M1 the Crab Nebula taken with the CCD camera Diemme

that M1, in the constellation Taurus, was a particular object, it had realized Lord Rosse William Parsons, Third Earl of Rosse who watched with his incredible giant telescope, the Leviathan of Parsonstown, which had been installed between the mighty walls of the castle Birr, Ireland.

In drawing done in 1844 by the astronomer looked a particular structure, so that it assumes the form of an exoskeleton of crab, crab in English, hence the name of the Crab Nebula, in fact, the nebula Crab. Actually, this question had already been cataloged by Charles Messier, who in 1758 looked at during a search session of comets, and the object was placed at the top of his list comet-looking object. Hence the name M1, that we still use to refer to this piece of light that is less bright in the horn of the constellation Taurus.

In fact, the substance of the first observation of M1 should be noted that the English John Bevis, the first man on the planet, this dim light, which employs about 6500 years to reach the Earth at a speed of 300,000 kilometers per second

A nebula between many of the sky, it seemed M1, classified simply as a planetary nebula, but in 1967 this object turned out to be one of the most interesting of the sky Lights. Previous studies had already revealed the high rate of expansion of the nebula, as well as anomalies in the spectrum of its central star. But it was revealed that in radio astronomy at the heart of M1 was a true monster of the sky. The young astronomy student, Jocelyn Bell identified a radio button, in fact, discovering the first pulsar (Pulsating stars), ie a neutron star, the story. It is because M1 is nothing more than the rest of the nucleus of a red supergiant star, left after the implosion / explosion of a supernova: a small star wreck, a few tens of km (28-30 km) in diameter that rotates at breakneck speed of one revolution every 33 milliseconds (About 30 turns on itself in a second!).

Reconstructing the rate of expansion of the nebula, and the rate of slowing of the pulsar, it was estimated that the star was visible in 1054 AD in the skies of Earth, as some chronicles graffiti and Indians (the star to the left of the moon in the picture) reported, and then became a star visibile ad occhio nudo di giorno, di magnitudine intorno ai -4,5 / -7 e cioè più luminosa di Venere, all'incirca come la Luna al primo quarto!

crisis is now: The Sbofarda the third consecutive defeat!
Eleven of Mr. Piscitelli has not been able to bring home even a point on the course of Milani, taking a goal on the only really dangerous action created by the home team; the blues have not been able to create an offensive game, all action stopped in front of the wall erected by the defense of amaranth in front of their doors, but not great prowess of the defenders, simply because of the inadequacy of the offensive play of the team away. The
Sbofarda tried to make the game, but the precarious psychological and physical conditions of some of its most representative players did not allow the construction of a better player now that he had used at the first opportunity and Milan have scored, taking home the three points. The nervousness of the boys

Ultima little thing ... I started by Captain in the final game!

difficult to make the report cards for this game, because apart from the errors of individuals, the only thing I can say is that to release the part to me is having it all! Needless to process the position of De Padua, my pieces, the amnesia of the midfielders and the evanescence of Fontana and Rapisarda, everyone has made her to ruin a game that had started well for us too!

This time, the first time, do technical analysis tactics! BECCATEVE THIS! I really wanted? Here are the results!

Overall we had hit the back very well, never made it in front of Matthew, now the defensive unit is extensively tested, but we lack the-go action, because we are limited to re-launch the ball but in the end we were the most orderly and clean.
Matthew himself has made two errors in position, but at the same time it was betrayed by a fog that still was heard and a lack of elsticità, probably lost during the holidays.

In midfield we have not suffered, but unfortunately we have not even built: the only time we've done three steps below we scored, but then what? Abbiao got two goals on errorri positioning, because the team was too biased on the right sector, often finding the left wing manned by good Santini, often placed in the middle. The first goal, you can not blame Mittiga, because a rebound is a rebound and scoring erano ben fatte; mentre sulla seconda marcatura c'è stato un errore di impostazione.

In attacco siamo semplicemente evanescenti! Put them 3 points ahead means you play tight, increased presence and pressure on the opposing defense, and above all an ability to close the central spaces that until now has been our Achilles heel.

conclude by saying two things: 1
- nervous ... useless to take the field with that nervousness does not help, needless to switch mid-game to insult each other or shouting against each other ... the only thing to do is play quiet, in fact, when we do, we become a steamroller.
2 - MIDFIELD MUSCLE ... if we are not able to play the ball, we might as well put all blacksmiths in midfield, opponents and break them the plots for the vertical system immediately points, do not dribble or possession.
3 - raised from the defense ... yes, it is true, yesterday I've made many, I believe a good half off target, but I guarantee you guys from behind sometimes it was impossible to find anyone who was in position, other times there was someone to serve, but so much offside that the only choice was to find a partner nearest you.
4 - CHECCHE Hysteria ... the result of nervousness and barked too much last night, it seems to be the market! Consider that when she screams like that, the first to lose their concentration is screamer, so better shut up!! Cycling and crush opponents.
5 - I'll have missed a reverse, But I did two sombreros ... one of which came on the second time ... and was also vice captain !!!!!!!!!!
6 - in my opinion ... if played with the 4-3-3 would be better.

Ok, I know I m tired of them serious and precise ... next year perhaps I will another technical analysis tactics, then you'll have time to recover.

SERANTARES Liceo Scientifico

Definitely Hubble Space Telescope (HST) had an impact on astronomy comparable to that of a small "glasses" pointing to the sky by Galileo Galilei in 1609!
HST is certainly one of the greatest scientific tools available to today's scientists to investigate the universe, like the large particle accelerators like the Large Hadron Collider. His eye
privileged position outside the Earth's atmosphere, allows us to scrutinize the edge of space and time, and observe objects in detail unimaginable a few years ago.
Friday, January 14, at 20E45, in the Aula Magna del Liceo Scientifico "G. Ricci Curbastro" Lugo, a traditional evening dedicated to astronomy (See also the link ). We discuss their
the Hubble Space Telescope, focusing on five major findings of this piece technical.

Electric Toothbrush Stopped Working Not Working

The potential contribution of amateur astronomy professional

As you know, there are often collaborations between amateur and professional astronomers. Technology has made available, including pockets of the individual, instruments with appreciable sensitivity. In addition, certain astronomical events, rather than require state of the art tools, require more of a long and detailed monitoring, in order to understand better the nature of cosmic sources.
I read today on the site arXiv preprint that hosts the major scientific publications, a couple of notes about it. One is written by T. Eversberg ( Spectroscopic madness - A golden age for amateurs ), while the other is by JH Knapen ( Between Scientific collaborations in astronomy amateurs and professionals ). Both are focused on stellar astronomy, but it is appropriate to say that there are also opportunities in other fields. For example, the Whole Earth Blazar Telescope ( WEBT ) organized by two talented colleagues from Turin, Claudia Raiteri and Massimo Villata, also collects contributions from amateur observers. Not to mention the planetary, as I personally experienced when I was dealing with meteors and asteroids. You'll be spoiled for choice!
Happy 2011! Let me point

Then tomorrow I will send you more photos taken in the chilly night between 3:04 January!

A Storm on Saturn, visible from Earth!

truly sparkling start to the year for the two largest planets in our solar system, that are attracting the interest of amateur astronomers around the world: the first was Jupiter, with the resurgence in autumn by the SEB, which had "disappeared" for several months, and now Saturn from the show, with a "storm" of a brilliant white that is visible too small to medium sized telescopes.

The storm on Saturn was made visible in the second half of December (discovered by Japanese amateur astronomer), but now has reached truly remarkable. Now extends to about 100 degrees of longitude of the tropical north, about 34 degrees north latitude. Saturn is now very high in the sky to the southeast before dawn, to the right of bright Venus. Above we have included a photo taken by an American astronomer, Sean Walker. The spacecraft Cassini
made a great shot of the new cloud the atmosphere of Saturn, which will attach below. The image was taken on NASA's 24 and transmitted to Earth on December 27 last year. We'll try to observe this phenomenon also Monteromano, perhaps the morning of January 4, after the Quadrantids!

meteor showers

January 3 to 4
: Quadrantids (see: http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quadrantidi )
parent body: the asteroid 2003 EH1, which probably corresponds to the comet C/1490 Y1.
Date activities: from '1 to 5 January. Maximum frequency over 60 meteors per hour, with short peaks up to 100 meteors per hour.
lunar illumination: non-existent, since the nights are interested in the new Moon. It should however be noted that the radiation, which is located in the constellation Bootes the border with Hercules and the Dragon, rises after midnight.

Planets
Mercury is visible at dawn for the entire month, fairly high above the horizon, and then with good visibility. On January 9 is to maximum western elongation (23 ° angular distance from the Sun), but the period of visibility extends to the second decade of the month.
Venus shines at magnitude -4.5 in the early hours before dawn. L ' January 8 is the maximum western elongation (47 ° angular distance from the Sun) and precedes the rising star of our good 3 hours and 42 minutes. Always spectacular!
Mars is undetectable for the entire month because of the close proximity with the Sun angle
Jupiter is always visible in the constellation of Pisces prima parte della notte.
Neptune is always traceable less than 4 degrees north-east of the star Deneb Algiedi, the tail of Capricorn, virtually immobile. Its visibility is reduced progressively and disappears later this month in light of the sunset.

Other phenomena
January 2
: conjunction Moon (thin waxing crescent to 5%) with Mercury, south-southeast at dawn.
January 3
: Jupiter in close conjunction with Uranus (angular distance of just over 31.5 minutes of arc)
January 3
: Earth at perihelion, or the point closer to the Sun at a distance of 0.983 Astronomical Units, equivalent to just over 147 million kilometers.
January 4
: Partial eclipse of sun visible from our resort. As you can see from the link , the strip of shadow on the terminator runs almost light-dark. From Romagna contact between the Moon and the Sun comes shortly before 8 am with both objects still low on the horizon, the maximum coverage of the solar disk around the 9e15 and end the event at around 10e45.
January 10: Moon-Jupiter conjunction. A crescent moon rising (phase 33%) finds himself 6.5 ° above the gas giant and the two objects will make company fino al loro tramonto.
25 gennaio : congiunzione larga Luna-Saturno.

inner planet at greatest elongation
The greatest elongation east (with the planet visible just after sunset to the west) or maximum elongation west (with the planet visible before sunrise to the east) are the configurations that allow for better visibility of the inner planets.
Mercury: Jan. 9 (W), March 23 (East), May 7 (W), July 20 (East), September 3 (W), Nov. 14 (East), December 23 (west).
Venus : January 8 (west).

outer planets in opposition
When the outer planets are in opposition, rise at sunset and dusk to dawn, so they are visible all night, reach their maximum brightness, being at its closest relative from the planet Earth.
April 4 : Saturn, visible in the constellation Virgo at magnitude +0.56;
August 23 : Neptune, which is located in the constellation Aquarius at magnitude +7.8;
September 26 : Uranus, which is located in the constellation Aquarius at magnitude +5.7;
October 29 : Jupiter, visible in the constellation of Aries at magnitude -2.9.
So Saturn will be easily visible in the spring, while Jupiter will show its best in autumn.
