Video riepilogativo 1° giorno di missione

Sono giornate intense sulla ISS. Nella serata di sabato lo shuttle Discovery è arrivato a destinazione, si è agganciato e l'equipaggio of shuttle mission STS 133 joined to that of the space station, which is also part of the Italian Paolo Nespoli.

"We've had visits. Welcome aboard," he wrote about Twitter Italian astronaut European Space Agency (Esa).

He also sent to Earth spectacular images of the approach and those of the Discovery special "welcoming committee" in charge of photographing the panels on the "belly of the shuttle to the usual security checks.

Immediately after the meeting and greeting the two crews were put to work immediately to remove from the hold of the shuttle platform Elc (Express Logistics Carrier), to be mounted outside the station Space in order to install equipment and systems for the ISS.

The large window space station, the Dome, the astronauts of STS 133 Mike Barratt and Nicole Stott maneuvered the ISS's robotic arm to install the platform.

E 'was a demanding job so that the center of Mission Control gave the astronauts an hour of sleep in more than planned.

Sunday was full of work in preparation for the first spacewalk of STS 133 yesterday which was used to take all actions necessary to remove from the hold of the Discovery Italian Leonardo module to dock with the ISS.

This operation is scheduled for today, March 1, and then will conduct all operations necessary to transform the permanent pressurized module (PMM) in the "Italian room" of the space station.
